At Shaftesbury Millie College, we are proud to prioritise the mental health and wellbeing of our entire college community – students, staff, parents, carers, and participants.
Our approach is guided by the GIRFEC (Getting It Right For Every Child) wellbeing model, which underpins all areas of student life. We strive to ensure every learner is Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible, and Included.
Our comprehensive support offer includes tailored Wellbeing and Resilience Action Plans, Zones of Regulation initiatives to support emotional awareness and self-regulation, access to Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSA), and guidance from Therapeutic Mentors. These services are designed to build resilience, boost confidence and general wellbeing, and ensure that every young person can thrive both emotionally and academically within a safe and nurturing environment.
We are equally committed to staff wellbeing and proudly adhere to the DfE’s Education Staff Wellbeing Charter, fostering a positive, respectful, and supportive workplace for all.
